KASHMIR!Calls for Community and Corporate Support to Tackle Unemployment
In a significant appeal aimed at addressing the pressing issue of unemployment, Agha Syed Karar Hashmi from Dab-Ganderbal, a prominent sociopolitical activist and scholar from Hauza-Ilmia Qom, has urged the educated youth of Jammu and Kashmir to proactively seek careers in entrepreneurship and the private sector across India.
Speaking from Qom City, Iran, Mr. Hashmi emphasized that the immense potential and talent of the region’s youth must be channeled into diverse and sustainable avenues. He advised them not to limit their aspirations to government jobs but to confidently explore establishing small business units and seeking employment in Multi-National Companies (MNCs) and other private enterprises, particularly in India’s metropolitan hubs.
Highlighting the power of community, Mr. Hashmi made a special request to Kashmiri professionals already adjusted in various private sectors across the country. He urged them to act as mentors and guides, helping new entrants from J&K navigate the job market. This collaborative effort, he stated, is crucial to “bring the graph of increasing unemployment lower” in the Union Territory.
Beyond financial guidance, the scholar also appealed to parents and guardians to maintain a vigilant and supportive watch over their children. He stressed the importance of guiding the younger generation away from anti-social activities, including drug addiction and other crimes, thereby safeguarding both their future and the social fabric of the community.
Recognizing the role of policy, Mr. Hashmi also appealed to the Central Government to consider creating a special platform or initiative. Such a mechanism would facilitate the absorption of the state’s educated unemployed into the vast private sector ecosystem across India, creating a structured pathway for opportunity.
This comprehensive appeal from a prominent young scholar is seen as a constructive step towards fostering self-reliance, economic integration, and social harmony in Jammu and Kashmir.
