Sept30: Prominent sociopolitical activist and Islamic scholar, Agha Syed Karar Hashmi, today led the tributes to the late Moulana Iftikar Hussain Ansari on the revered leader’s 11th death anniversary, hailing him as a “beacon of communal harmony and unity.”
Speaking from the Hauza-Ilmia Qom in the Islamic Republic of Iran, where he is currently pursuing his studies, Hashmi stated, “Eleven years on, the towering legacy of Moulana Ansari remains a guiding light. He was an architect of unity, whose life’s work was dedicated to transcending sectarian divides and strengthening the foundational bonds of brotherhood between all communities in Kashmir.”
Widely respected in international Islamic centers, Moulana Ansari was remembered not only for his profound scholarship but also for his rare ability to blend spiritual authority with pragmatic guidance for the welfare of the people.
Hashmi emphasized that the best way to honor the departed leader is to champion the cause of communal harmony and public service. Prayers (Fateha) and Quranic recitations were held for the departed soul, with a unified plea for the Almighty to grant him a high station in Jannatul Firdous.
