JDU State General Secretary (Organization) Ayaz Darwi Demands Sub-District Status for Wagoora from LG Government

Srinagar.Janata Dal (United) State General Secretary (Organization), Ayaz Darwi, has strongly urged the LG Administration to grant Sub-District status to Wagoora, citing its long-standing administrative importance and growing public dependence.

Darwi stated that Wagoora has been functioning as a key administrative hub for decades, with offices such as the Naib Tehsildar, Block Development Office (BDO), and later its elevation to Tehsil status, reflecting its significance in governance and service delivery.

He further highlighted that Wagoora hosts several crucial government institutions including the Education Zone Office, CDPO Office, Assistant Registrar Cooperative Office, Electric Sub-Division, and Tehsil Supply Office, making it the natural administrative center of the entire area.

“Wagoora has already evolved as the administrative capital of the region. Granting it Sub-District status will greatly enhance governance, accessibility, and development for the people,” Darwi said.

He appealed to the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha to consider this genuine and long-pending demand in the larger interest of public welfare and balanced regional development.
