The philanthropist passed away at a hospital in Ahmedabad after suffering a stroke, leaving behind a legacy of compassion and service.
Hashmi stated, “The news of Yaqoob Ali’s passing has cast a pall of profound grief over all who knew him or benefited from his work. His departure marks an irreplaceable loss that has sent shockwaves through the countless lives he touched across India.”
He further elaborated on the late philanthropist’s contributions, noting, “Yaqoob Ali Pasheriya was the embodiment of selfless service, working tirelessly for the poor, widows, and marginalized communities. His benevolent mission knew no borders, with impactful work spanning from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar to Jharkhand, Bengal, and Jammu and Kashmir. He was not just a donor but a hands-on helper whose deep piety was reflected in his tangible actions.”
In his statement, Hashmi particularly highlighted the philanthropist’s connection with Kashmir, saying, “His specific initiatives in the region, from aiding poor patients with minor surgeries to establishing empowering tailoring centres at Dal Lake, stand as enduring monuments to his practical and profound commitment to social upliftment.”
The socio-political activist concluded his tribute with a personal note, stating, “Receiving this heartbreaking news here in Qom has left me utterly broken. In Yaqoob Ali, I have not merely lost a fellow humanitarian, but a true and spiritual brother. Today, the community of Kanodar has lost a noble son, and India has lost a quiet giant of charity. May the Almighty Allah grant his noble soul the highest station in Jannah-al-Firdous and give his family, friends, and all who loved him the strength to bear this immense loss.”
